SELL YOUR HORSE

In order to list your horse with Annie's Thoroughbreds, you must provide the following information about your horse:

- Name/registered name

- Height

- Age

- Location

- Known injuries/vices

- Personality traits

Additional information such as training history/level, maintenance (i.e., shoes, injections), and rider level required are also great things to include.

PHOTOS:

- Minimum: Quality conformation shots of a clean horse (no mud, tangled manes, etc) must be provided.

- Recommended photos: Conformation shots (one from each side), head shot, shots from front and back, as well as photos of their legs.  It also helps to have photos of the horse doing its job (jumping, eventing, barrels, trail riding, etc.).

VIDEO:

At minimum, one jog in hand or trot in round pen video must be provided.  Additional photos and videos will help your horse sell.

Annie's Thoroughbreds now offers MULTIPLE ways to help you sell your horses!  While I originally focused on OTTBs, I now do any thoroughbred, including broodmares and racing prospects, as well as any sporthorse!  Click the button below to find out our marketing options!

Purchase a horse

If you are interested in buying a horse listed, please get in touch through the Contact page or text 225-263-1889.

While there is no formal application process, I will ask several questions to ensure a good fit between horse and buyer.  Some sellers want videos of you riding before you come try the horse, some sellers require your trainer to attend.

Occasionally, sellers will request references be checked.  I may ask for two references - one being a vet or farrier, and someone else who can vouch for your care and riding ability.  This isn't to offend anyone but to ensure that a horse can find a good home!

Different sellers have different policies, but generally horse sales are first come, first serve.  I would recommend talking to the seller about putting down a deposit on a horse that you really like or need time to arrange a trip to visit.  We will discuss these options so you can determine the best path forward.  It is also important that you verify all information and questions with the owner of the horse.

Getting a pre-purchase exam is always encouraged and recommended!
