Nelson is the friendliest, sweetest gentleman in horse form! Extremely comfortable to ride, he is a solid and reliable fox hunter, confidently hunting 2nd and 3rd flight and showing all the makings of an excellent staff horse.

 

He has hunted with Green Creek, Goodwin, Low Country, Shakerag, and Wateree. With additional jumping mileage, Nelson will easily step up to 1st Flight if desired. He is honest and willing to the jumps—currently green only due to being recently started, and still learning where to place all those big feet.

 

On the flat, Nelson is beginning to work more consistently in contact and has been very accepting and eager to learn. With continued schooling, and his A+ gaits he would make a wonderful lower-level eventing or dressage prospect.

 

This is a horse you can truly trust: put your grandma, husband, guest, or child on him and hit the trails or head out on a fox hunt with complete confidence. He is an excellent choice for a timid rider. Nelson is traffic-safe, good with all livestock, and opens and closes gates with ease.

 

With his dependability and smooth, comfortable gaits, Nelson would also make an exceptional backcountry or pack horse, and is very pleasant to ride western. Another discipline he may excel in is vaulting, thanks to his natural canter transition and consistent, rhythmic stride.

 He loads, bathes, clips, and ties with absolutely no drama, has no known soundness or health issues and is  kind, honest, and uncomplicated in every way.
