Ryder is an exceptional all-around gelding with an impressive resume. He was the Georgia Breakaway Horse of the Year last year and has proven himself at the highest levels of the sport. Rather than continue competing at that level, we’d love to see him transition into a home where he can enjoy a slightly easier career while preserving both his soundness and his wonderful mind for years to come.

 

Ryder’s versatility is one of his greatest strengths. He absolutely loves hitting the trails and has enjoyed overnight camping trips, including recent adventures through the mountains of Virginia to visit the wild ponies. He’s confident, sure-footed, and happy to lead the group or follow. His naturally big walk allows him to comfortably keep up with much larger horses, making him a fantastic trail companion.

 

Beyond the trail, Ryder would excel in:

 

* Ranch Riding

* Working Equitation

* Low-Level Western Dressage

* Low-Level English Dressage

* General all-around riding

 

He would also make an outstanding addition to an intermediate and above lesson program. While he is incredibly kind and forgiving, he has enough training and “buttons” that we feel he is best suited for a rider beyond the absolute beginner stage.

 

Ryder genuinely enjoys his job. He loves water, new adventures, and spending time with his people. He’s the type of horse that gives his rider confidence while still being fun, responsive, and rewarding to ride.

 

He is sound, has no known health issues, has not been recently injected, and is not currently on any maintenance supplements. As with any horse his age that remains in regular work, routine maintenance would likely be beneficial, but he has required none to date.

 

Finding horses with Ryder’s resume, temperament, versatility, and honesty is becoming increasingly rare. He deserves a home where he can continue making memories and helping someone enjoy every ride.
